Everyone needs a Will

Without a Will, those left behind have to go and get permission from the Court to do almost anything. That costs a lot of money and frustration. If you leave your loved ones without a properly executed Will, tasks as small as transferring the title of a car are hard.

Even people of modest means have bank accounts, life insurance policies or retirement accounts that need to be addressed, understood, and planned.

For parent’s with minor children, it is imperative that you have made clear who you would want to become the guardian of your children if you were to die. Without a Will, that decision is left to the State. That is not a process any family should have to struggle through.

You also need to have a Medical and Durable Power of Attorney to appoint a person to to handle your affairs in the event that you become incapacitated and unable to make your own decisions.  These documents will make that tragic time easier on your loved ones.
